I am a music education student at Muskingum University. I've been always interested in music since I was a little girl. Getting my first attempt at music in fifth grade by getting my hands on a trumpet. From that day on, I loved my instrument, working everyday to improve and make myself sound better, get rhythms correct and challenge myself to be the better than I was thought to be.
I put myself my high school year into countless Solos and Ensembles (musical groups), Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Orchestra, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and even Music Theory to get a full understanding of music and to increase my spectrum of where I was going. I went on tour with my high school marching band to Philadelphia and New York City. When I graduated I was handed our schools Music Scholarships, one from a good friend, the Jessie Jervis Jazz Scholarship and from my director I was handed the Music Education Scholarship.
I took both of these scholarships with me to Muskingum University in order to continue my music education. I am now a Junior Music Ed. Major participating in Wind Ensemble, taking private trumpet lessons with Dr. Turriell, Jazz Ensemble, Soloist and Improver (creating jazz solos with just a scale and making it your own), private jazz trumpet lessons with Professor Kason, piano practicing, string methods and lessons, as well as Trumpet Sectionals.
When I have free time outside of classes, work and practicing, I am an artist and photographer. I am often found over a sketchbook drawing some scene I have in my mind in any style of art I am envisioning. Or out with a camera taking photos at different angles and showing my views on the world, later editing them on my computer. I am also engaged to the love of my life, Aaron, who I've known since I was in Second Grade and started dating in 2011.
I am very happy with where I am in life and am always looking for a new enjoyment with family and friends.
